| Economical OHV Engine |
Kubota's own air-cooled, 4-cycle OHV engines achieve greater combustion efficiency by placing the valve over the cylinder rather than on the side. This way, air and fuel are mixed more thoroughly by travelling directly into the cylinder for greater thermal and fuel efficiency.

| |
| Longer Continuous Operation |
The efficient OHV combustion system reduced fuel consumption by 25%. This, combined with a larger capacity fuel tank, results in a longer period of continuous operation on a single tank of fuel. The Auto Idler on AV3800 - AV6500B reduces fuel consumption even further.
| |
| Lower Noise Level |
The noise levels have been reduced 3 to 7 dB (A) thanks to Kubota's unique sound absorbing design, the highly efficient OHV combustion system, precision engine parts, oversized engine silencers and air cleaners.
| |
| Stable Power Generation |
Either the brushless Condenser Load Compensation (CLC) system or the brush type Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) system is used in the generator unit. Both systems ensure consistent output with very little voltage fluctuation.

| Easy Dependable Starting |
Engines used in this series are equipped with an automatic decompression system and an electronic ignition device. The combination of the automatic decompression system, which reduces the pulling force by 40% compared to conventional side valve engines, and the powerful electronic ignition device ensures dependable starting in any weather. Electric start models are also available for AV3800 - AV 6500B.

| |
| Economical & Safe Oil Supply |
Reduced oil consumption contribute to economical operation. Kubota's OHV engines consume 50% less oil than comparable side valve engines. As a safety measure, the Oil Watch system automatically stops the engine before the oil reaches an unsafe level.
| |
| Dual AD/DC Power System |
Even when AC power is in use, DC can supply enough power (120V/100W) to charge an automobile battery.
| |
| Convenient Operation |
All connectors, indicators and controls are conveniently grouped for easy operation. Twist lock receptacles solved the problem of accidental cord unplugging, while the built-in circuit breakers/protectors provide additional safety for AC and DC circuits. Electric start models have an (optional) automatic choke and hour meter to help schedule preventive maintenances.
